What is opia?
opia shows you what’s on near you – concerts, parties, festivals, markets and culture – and where your friends are going. Join with a tap, make plans in the chat, and share photos and videos of the night afterwards. The goal: more time together, in real life.
How much does opia cost?
opia is free. Should we introduce paid features in the future, you’ll see the terms before any purchase – nothing is ever charged without your explicit consent.
Is opia available for Android?
Not yet. opia is currently available for iPhone only, as a beta via TestFlight.
How do I join the beta?
First install Apple’s free TestFlight app from the App Store. Then open the beta link on your iPhone and tap “Accept” and “Install”. From then on, updates arrive automatically through TestFlight.
Who can see which events I attend?
Your profile, your posts and the events you attend are visible to other opia users. People who follow you see in their Circle where you’re going. Messages are only visible to the people in that chat. We never show your date of birth, email address or location to others.
How do I find my friends?
Search for names, follow people and get suggestions. If you allow it, opia checks your contacts and shows you who’s already here – the contacts are made unrecognisable on your iPhone first.
Can I create my own events?
Yes. Tap the plus in the app, enter the details, and share your event with your people – right in the chat, too.
Why don’t I see my event on the lock screen?
opia shows an event live on your lock screen when you’re attending it and nearby. For that, opia needs access to your location set to “Always” – you can change this in the iPhone Settings under opia › Location.
How do I report or block someone?
Right in the app: you can report content and block accounts with a tap. What you report disappears from your feed immediately. If it’s urgent, also write to us through the form.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, under Settings. Your profile is no longer visible straight away, and we permanently delete your data within 30 days. Details are in our privacy policy.
Where is my data stored?
On our servers in the European Union. Everything else is in our privacy policy.
How old do I have to be to use opia?
At least 16.
